July 2009 marked the 20 year anniversary of the restoration and recovery of Neptune 566 from Tahiti to Australia.  Members of the original restoration team were on hand to celebrate this milestone and to participate in an engine run demonstration.

This is the second of of the two Lockheed Neptune P2V-7s operated by the Society. Neptune 566 was one of 26 operated by the French armed forces from 15 April 1969 and was allocated to French Marine Escadrille 12.
